Kitten: Barkkit (Thorntail when he was a kit) Mother: Half-spot Story time!: The cool, Green leaf breeze swept into the nursery with a tired, brown queen rested on the side of the den wall with one single kit next to her. The Queen opened her heavy eyes to see a tom cat walk in. "What did Ferrettooth say about him?" The tom asked. The kitten let out a slight mew for affection when the queen raised her head. "Nothing much," She said,"Ferrettooth did say that he came early though. He wasn't suppose to come until the next moon," The kit then crawled up to the tom and nuzzled his nose on the cats paw. "You should be proud of your kit, Sunheart," the Queen said. Sunheart looked down to the kit with a smile on his face. "I am." He said,"It's just-" He grabbed the kit by the scruff and put him next to the kit's mother's stomach. He then continued. "Don't you think he won't make this litter? He was the only one born." The Queen looked up and gazed at him with a look like she touched something disgusting. "And your point is?" She asked "Half-spot, what if this kit is a bad omen? He was the only one born and he came before the day." "So what? You think he'll not be a good enough son?" Half-spot raised her angered voice. The kit started to panic when his mother started to unsheathe her claws. "No! No!" Sunheart said,"I...I don't want him to turn on his family like for what happened with Yellowfang and Brokenstar," The Queen then stopped and held her breath at for what he said. She sighed and brought her claws sheathed. She patted her paw to an empty spot right next to her. The tom walked up and lied next to Half-spot. The feeling of the Sunheart's fur made Half-spot rest her head on his shoulder. "I know that when you heard the story from Graystripe when we were kits, you were concerned for what would happen if we had kits of our own," Half-spot then licked Sunheart's thick cheek fur. "But I promise you. We will help our kit. We will show him that the stars are guiding his path. Not the Darkness that roams through the hiding shadows,'' Sunheart then licked her back and had tears run down his cheeks. "Ok, My dear." he smiled but looked down to his kit,"But what will we name him?" "Well I was thinking about... Barkkit." "That's a wonderful name." He said hugging Barkkit, who walked up to him to see his father's warm eyes being blocked by the forms of tears that he made. They then heard a cat shout. They both knew for who it was. It was their leader, Aquastar. "Sunheart! We need you on a patrol! Their are rouges invading the hunting grounds!" Aquastar shouted. He got up and walked to the exit. He stopped before his last back paw can exit den to look back at his mate and son to give her a slight wink before he walked out the den and out of the camp. The Queen looked down and put her nose on her kit's. "You are a blessing to this clan, My kit. I know that you will be loyal to this clan. I will be with you forever, Barkkit. Even if you don't see me, I'll be their to protect you and guide you to the right path," The kit then laid down and rested his sleepy head next to his mother's curled tail. The she-cat then cuddled him closer to her and licked his head. Before she herself went to sleep, she looked out the entrance and then back at her kit. "I promise."
