Instructions

this is for the rp Into Darkness Phoenixes are basically firey birds. You know what they are. They do have the normal phoenix ability to rise from the ashes, but these have a set number of lives: 5. Every time they are reborn and start a new life, they get weaker. If they are not killed or die from other causes, such as starvation or illness, they will die from old age. In their first life, this age is around 150 years. Each life 10 years are taken off it, so in 3rd life they have 130ish years, last 100ish, etc. They also have fire powers, of course, and are immune to the cold but can overheat when it gets really hot, but since they live in snow-capped mountains, that doesn't really happen. Training of magic will go faster with each life. In the first life, magic training will take most of their fledgling-hood, but on the fifth it will only take half of it tops.

Description

The Phoenix Flock lives in the Far Peaks, with the camp on a cliff-like area. Nests are made of feathers (which aren't always on fire), twigs, and rocks. They usually just eat rabbits and berries like normal hawks. Since they have such long lifespans, their growth is also slowed. Also, important to note: yes, when they die in one life, they do regenerate as an egg. However, in their first life when they are first born, they take the normal few months to hatch. However, if its a rebirth, it only takes at most 2 days. Stages 0-5 years: hatchling (just out of egg, still floofy with down feathers; magic mostly dormant and weak; equivalent of baby) 5-15 years: nestling (still not out of nest, floofy; magic sometimes comes out in weak bursts; equivalent of toddler) 15-25 years: chick (out of nest but not yet able to fly well, growing proper feathers; magic more stable, but still pretty weak; equivalent of grade school kid) 25-35 years: fledgling (has flight feathers, still dependent on parents tho; training magic, which is now almost 100% stable; equivalent of middle/high school kid) 35-50 years: juvenile (proper flight feathers; finishing magic training; equivalent of college kid) 50-80 years: adult (uh...adult. magic in peak strength) 80+ years: elder (magic weakening, once they are near age of death from old age, the flame dies out and they can't use fire magic)
