(Thought it would be fun to do a lil' narrative thing XD) ▪︎ Cougar ▪︎ Mudwing ▪︎Male ▪︎Just turned 11 "You may ask; 'isn't there someone more experienced for this position?' And the answer is; Yes. There is. But is any so strong, so ready to leap into danger? There /is/ only one me. And I'm him." ▪︎Personality ▪︎ "I'd say I'm a... humble guy. (<Not at all!) I'm very competitive, very skilled at pretty much anything physical. And I love helping dragons to not be killed by animi. like, protecting villages and stuff. I actually kinda have a thing against animi... so I'm a good guy to hunt them down." Cougar is quite a showy dude, strong and outgoing. He has a habit of talking to himself. Always wanted to win at everything, until a certain dragon came along.. Suddenly, all- (well, let's be honest here. /Mostly/) he cared about was /her/ safety, and what /she/ wanted. She put doubts into his mind he hadn't known he could have. "Persephone has definitely.. helped me become a better dragon than I was... like, thinking of how other dragons feel, or something like that.. Not that I wasn't amazing before." *Flashy grin* Despite his terrible humility and unrealistically high views of himself; Cougar really does want to protect dragons, and would do anything for his fellow hunters. ▪︎"I want to be leader of the animus hunters because; I've always seen myself as a dragon who'd be good at leading others, and I think I could do a decent- no, great job at it. I have a deep seated grudge against all animi, so there's no doubt I'd do everything in my power to stop them." That, and the fact that Starling (Skywing) would have to actually do what he says. Not that that's a main reason. Or that he'd mention that reason. But.. a reason is a reason. ▪︎"I'd do stuff like; making sure the bunkers and everything at hq is kept up. Going out on missions with the hunters. Trying to find better ways to track animus dragons down." ▪︎"I'd be a great fit for this role because... I've fought many, many animus dragons.. and could give good advice to new, inexperienced hunters. I'd be an active fighter against the evil animi that drive more dragons out of their homes and into hiding every day." ▪︎ Backstory▪︎ Cougar was the youngest in his clutch, and lost his sibs to the cruel talons of an animus when he was about three. He spent a lot of time alone in the swamps, about two years worth. (Perhaps that's partly where the whole "talking to himself" bit came from) Wondering why he hadn't been there with his siblings, why when he got there, he couldn't do anything... and he swore to become someone who /could/ do something. Someone who could do anything. And that someday, he'd do something to make sure the animi never hurt anyone again. He eventually found and joined the animus hunters, learning and fighting and going on missions. Rescuing dragons, who loved him for it. (He's prone to let things like that go to his head) Making new friends and gaining some sort of understanding of what teamwork is. He was still pretty cocky, striking up what will probably be a lifelong friendly rivalry with Starling, another young animus hunter. (And I kinda already mentioned Perry. Though, I /could/ elaborate... But I think this is already too long. XD I had fun with it.) Meeting Persephone set him along a slightly different path.. finding empathy. He met the beautiful rain-night hybrid while chasing an animus he wouldn't admit he'd lost in the rainforest. She found the mudwing silly, talking to himself, and they hung out for a while. He got to telling her he was an animus hunter, to find that Perry's own father was with the hunters. They gave her mom a quick visit, then set off for the animus hunters base, where they'd meet the old Nightwing, along with some other new friends.
