(this is completely spoiler-free!) there was a book called Tailchaser's song. Looking at it and being an average warrior cats fan will make you think it's just a greedy ripoff- but no, no, no, don't judge the book by its cover!! If you look at the copyright date, it was made in 1985, way before Into The Wild was even made! And I know, I kinda despise Warriors, but I'm not going to just talk about why Warriors is overrated- I'm talking about how it's a blatant ripoff of a good book. Yes, Tailchaser's song is a lot more experienced and long, and I have to admit, I have never read Tailchaser's song. Just the Wikipedia article and a couple of book reviews. (please don't kill me for this) Tailchaser's song is about a wild cat society, where songs like stories are told about past cats and how they were amazing and good gods and stuff- There's a full language about how they describe different animals and types of things. There's a cat named Tailchaser who needs to go off on an adventure and it turns out to be more dangerous and scarier than he thought. He starts to add more people to his journey and help him out along the way. Now, does this sound familiar? It sounds A LOT like Warriors' story. You have to admit that! Warriors got VERY VERY VERY inspired by this book, and Erin Hunter has said nothing about this! (yes and I know Erin hunter is more than one person-)(andihavealotofpetpeevessodon'thurtme) And don't go all out with that "Oh bUt WaRrRiOrs HaS DifFFerEnt ChaRaCtErS anD ThiS meAnS thAT InSTeaD oF thAT" crap.
