Instructions

Please read everything here especially the text within a border and the controls (except below the boss description). I don't want people to be confused or something. (Note: This game is quite difficult unless you know how to play SHMUPs, especially on the first X-shooter part. This is also mobile compatible but not mobile friendly as I don't know where to exactly put the joystick and you get hit more often since it was mainly designed for PCs / Macs. It seems to be laggy as well. Might implement the "drag the plane" mode if possible) (Another note: The demo at the start would mostly go up to until the 2nd upper X-Shooter) FULLSCREEN RECOMMENDED! (Make sure no lags intact the game or else the pattern would mix up) Don't need to like the project unless you really like SHMUPs. ========================================= This project was originally an attempt for an idea to most certainly revive the long dead Aerial Ace series by @rallyrocket which never came through beyond 2. Ultimately, it became a planned boss exclusive fight instead (Not a boss rush). I would probably upload a sneak peak of that, at least the title and stuff. ========================================= This test is quite buggy but I have almost no idea how to fully fix it. There are also some unused scripts for future and leftover purposes. This project uses camera movement (that has rotation) which is far from perfect. I would never actually complete this, since this is a tech demo. I honestly lack motivation so if @rallyrocket or some SHMUP game programmer here sees this, you could take some couple of scripts to your game. For the rest, you may take the engine and fix it but please give credit AND atleast make a different level, rather than being the same as this one. What's the point of this anyway? I think there are way better side scrolling SHMUP projects out there... is there? --== C O N T R O L S ==-- :::COMPUTER::: WASD - Movement O - Cannons P - Missiles (Eh, hold these two and never let go) :::MOBILE::: (Mostly not compatible, just an experiment) Joystick - Movement Your ship will autofire it's weapons No power ups btw because it's difficult to adjust them here. One of the biggest issues is the function of if touching cloning and despawning. I wanted the player to explode when in contact with the enemies or enemy shots via touching a specific costume of it but then it doesn't seem to work (look inside). For some reason some of the enemies despawn by not actually spawning at all. Player's plane - R/F-67 Hammerhead-II (2057) Enemies: - Big flies and Orb things - Crimson flies (Shoots) - Edge mounted shooters - X-shooter (If they are many on the screen, you wouldn't really survive that much) - Huge Centipedes (From Strato Fighter) (They come with a rather not accurate warning like this (!)) - Prong-mouth laser shooters (The ones that charge and release a beam) (Note, you can shoot their laser to "hit" them. Mostly done due to cloning issues) (They're also invulnerable to missiles) Boss - Some creature controlled ship (Inspired by the Angler Fish boss from the Darius series). In this, almost every gun points at the player (Note that the huge gun's bullets are collided). If you destroy one of the upper basic guns of the ship, the fast guns below would also aim to you as well. If all the guns are gone aside from the big one, it would shoot faster. Once all the guns are gone you could shoot the boss without crashing into it. However it has it's last effort by launching semi-homing missiles at you that cannot be destroyed. Implementing it's guns is really difficult. Using an all sprite list causes all the clones to point to the last section of the list instead of their own (without bugging out when using 0 scs scripts), which is by far one of the HARDEST to cope up with. In a similar issue above, I basically want the player to collide with the guns but not the boss at first. The problem is, either the shots go through or get blocked by the body of the ship when attempting to use a single sprite only (Ended up in another sprite except for the huge gun).

Description

Date started: February 2020 (Planned progression is supposed to be a few weeks) (Delayed heavily due to reasons. It's not being worked on pretty straight) Also do you know HOW many times the "scripts go in one place" bug occurred on me? (Most especially offline) Pretty much plenty, and it's annoying. What month is it? December, and this bug isn't gone yet along with some others (unable to type and scripts being stuck), probably thanks to people who want deceiving suggestions in the forum (This has finally become one of the reason why I HATE forums). Also one thing, one thing I didn't notice is that giving a link gets you REPORTED? Even though it will be a site that is okay, it might still get reported for no reason. Minor test projects would probably be put in an alt account from now on. There was supposed to be a GIF thumbnail but it doesn't work anymore somehow. PS. Are controllers compatible with scratch? I saw the "make anything into a key" but it didn't have sensors. If they are compatible, make sure the keys O is B/X and P is A/O (Other consoles and PS based, respectively), but how to set that up?. Credits: Taito (Darius series) PSiKYO (Strikers 1945 series) NMK (Alpha Mission II) Tecmo (Strato Fighter) Guess a sidescrolling SHMUP game that has a moving rotating camera based on your movements and it is also complex looking etc. Updates: 12/25/20 - Boss explosions now have delete clones script because I forgot to add it 12/20/20 - Made the plane size slightly smaller Tags - #Shootemup #Shooter #Shoot #Em #Up #Space #Jet #Jet_Fighter #Plane #Airplane #Aeroplane #Demo #Test #Testing #Game #Games #Video_Game #Sidescrolling #Sidescroller #Scrolling #Space #Enemies #Boss #Arcade #1992 #2020 #Cave #Lair #Bugs #Skill #Cannon #Cannons #Missiles
