Okay so I started this back in January and wanted to post it for Valentine's Day, but then kind of forgot about it, so here we are ♡ EXPLANATION FOR THOSE WHO WANT ONE: In the novel I'm writing, the main character is Cyrille, the princess of the kingdom of Lanswell, whose monarchs have historically enforced tyrannical rule using magic. Since she is the only of the king and queen's children who can use magic, she is heir to the throne. An organized revolution is rising within the kingdom, and its leader sends her son (the other main character), whose name is Reuben, to assassinate Cyrille. Before he can kill her, though, she puts a curse on him. This curse says that if she dies, he will die too. It will wear off, however, when she is reunited with her sibling, Harlow, who is visiting their fiance in a nearby kingdom. To make sure she stays safe (so he can survive), Reuben has to travel with Cyrille to this kingdom so he can kill her afterward. As they journey, though, they start to bond, and Reuben has to decide between proving himself to both his emotionally abusive mother (and his own self) by killing the princess or protecting her from the rebellion because he cares about her too much. During their travels they discover that Cyrille's ability to use magic isn't due to any sort of inherited trait, but because a living creature, given to her by her mother at birth, lives inside her, and the leader of the rebellion wants to kill her to she can harvest this creature from her body and exploit its power. To stop this from happening, Cyrille learns a spell to kill the creature, which could potentially kill her as well. This animatic takes place right before she performs the spell. It's a weirdly complicated plot, I know. ♡ CREDITS: All characters belong to me. Music: "In Case You Don't Live Forever" by Ben Platt, the almighty man that we should all love and admire (he turned 27 last week!! ♡) Art by yours truly >;) ♡ i kind of want to post the story about cyrille and reuben, but a. i don't have a title for it b. it's not finished, and c. most importantly, it deals with lots of mature themes like trauma and ptsd, depression, and abuse, and it has several adult topics that are addressed, some of which are critical to the plot and would be very difficult to censor. so sorry folks, this is one thing i don't think i can do :( i'll post more about these characters tho, because i love them!! cyrille is a dreamer and super weird, like me, and reuben tries to be edgy but is really just a big softy also if my best friend had ben platt's voice i would fall head over heels for him too so cyrille i gotchu EDIT 11/2/2020: The reason that there's poorly edited text in the beginning is actually because I was originally planning to get voice acting for this (at least in the opening). I was going to say Cyrille's lines, and I asked a friend of mine who had a deeper voice to do Reuben's Unfortunately, they never got around to it :( but I think it turned out decently well nonetheless! Also there's literally a part in the story where Cyrille accidentally turns reuben's skin green while trying to heal him and he loses his mind and starts screaming, just so you can get an idea of the pure chaotic energy these two exert #animatic #art #oc edit 11/18: yo i may have figured out a way to censor it so i can post it :000
