Various 3.0 Pen (& Antialiasing) Bugs. View in Full Screen, then Click the Flag to get the Red Spots drawn by the Pen, under the Blue S1 Sprite. S4 & S5 are pretty good quality & are basically what we're trying to achieve with all the others. The leftmost image is poor & they gradually get better to the right.
This project attempts to highlight in a clear & helpful way, various 3.0 bugs, that I first advised the Scratch Team of 3 months before D-Day (January 2019). These were highlighted with various examples of 2.0 projects, that ceased to work properly because of these and other Pen and poor Antialiasing Bugs. Some of them have been fixed, such as the one where if you put the Pen Down on a background with exactly the same colour as the Pen, an erroneous antialiasing ring appeared around the edge. But the ones highlighted by this project are still yet to be fixed. And for purely selfish reasons I don't really know if I want them to be fixed now, because I have built so many fudges into so many projects to work around them now, that if they suddenly got fixed, I'd have a whole heap of projects that I'd have to go back and carefully "un-fudge" to make then work properly, again. But in the interests of everybody going forwards they really should be fixed. If you are interested a couple of the projects where I will have to do a lot of "un-fudging" work, should these bugs suddenly get fixed, are: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/303990029/ & https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/285499378/. By the way several of the bugs highlighted here have been sent to ST at least once, and in some cases twice since D-Day as well. But maybe none of those reports highlighted the issues as succinctly as this project does, and they (ST) couldn't see the wood for the trees, in my previous reports of these bugs. July 2021 update: Several of the bugs highlighted in this project have now been fixed.
