So, some explanation about the "DESAN" thing: BYU has two routes into the animation program: the CS side (with classes abbreviated CSANM) and the design side (with classes abbreviated DESAN). I'm in the pre-major for the CS side so normally I can't take DESAN classes without a permission-to-add code but since I do kind of like art and I needed another credit this semester, I got an add code for DESAN 101, the "intro to drawing for pre-animation" class. And so far, the main thing it's taught me is that I should definitely stay in the CS route. I like drawing, but doing it on a deadline and being graded on quality is pretty stressful. And I really enjoyed my CSANM class last semester, solving puzzles and 3D-modeling was just really exciting and it felt... idk, I just liked it and could see myself doing it for a job and didn't mind the deadlines and stuff. Anyways. A lot of these are assignments for DESAN. (I also considered putting my 3D Model images on here but because I used a student version of Maya and it's kind of weird about copyright I'm not quite sure about the legality of sharing them on different websites.)
Audio -- The Piano Guys -- It's Gonna Be Okay 1. One of our first projects for DESAN was a character design; we had to have a turnaround, a gesture, and four facial expressions. This was the turnaround. 2. gesture and expressions. I'm still not the happiest with the expressions but oh well. 3. turnaround without the guide lines 4. Still life for DESAN 5-6. My Christmas present for my Dad was making some bagpipe stationery. (The lines aren't all showing up in Scratch.) 7. cover for the Cosmere studio 8. I made this back in october bc spooky. Based on the song Glow in the Dark by Rachel Rose Mitchell, intended to be Star Swallowed. 9. Maze for an AT with @VoidKeeper 10. without the BG 11. Nebula for @LadyScientist because the design was super aesthetic. I'm not 100% happy with how this turned out (the proportions were a little off and the colors look a bit too busy) but I got to draw stars so it was fun. I'm also really proud of the translucence and the constellations on the tail so that's a plus. 12 - 15. One of our assignments for DESAN is to have a sketchbook in which we draw from life and stuff but the thing is most of the time when I'm drawing I'm sitting in class, and everyone is looking at the teacher, so I have a lot of drawings of the backs of people's heads. 16. From Inktober, a reference to this REALLY AWESOME webcomic called Space Boy. I'd totally recommend it. It's basically scratch-appropriate (there's a little bit of mild violence, and a few characters use God's name as a swear word, but that's about it... also some disturbing bits I guess) and it's so gooood aa 17. Human ivypool, also from inktober, because Crossing the Line had just come out and of course I wanted to draw dove and ivy. (I drew dove too but for some reason I guess I didn't find that picture while I was looking through the files to put on here idk) 18. more inktober, the photo was taken at an angle and I think the head was more in proportion with the body on the original drawing but oh well. Doing some designs for a potential Warriors/star swallowed OC (Petalspark) (Star Swallowed is basically done/dead/not a thing now but it wasn't back in october) 19. More inktober, and more space boy! This was a crossover AU between Space Boy and the Stormlight Archive (which is not so Scratch-appropriate, although it is good if you're old/mature enough). Oliver would 100% be a lightweaver, and I think Amy would be an edgedancer though that's up for debate. 20-26. Another DESAN assignment was to make an up-to-7-page storyboard so I did a somewhat more clarified version of my The Call MAP part. Idk if the text is legible on here.
