Her sister, a short-tempered dragonet named Beach, wasn't fond of her sister. Sand was also ignored by her parents. Her mother was a RainWing who had a powerful position in the SandWing palace despite being a different tribe. Her father was a general in the queen's army and was often called away from the palace on 'secret' business. Sand's two brothers, Cobra and Copperhead, were rough dragonets who didn't like anyone joining their 'group' who didn't belong. Which, of course, meant she wasn't allowed to hang out with them. This left Sand Viper to herself most of the time. She became fond of reading, writing, and drawing. Sand would go to the market every day, buying and selling whatever she could. Two of her favorite things she bought were a golden necklace and a feather earring. One night while Sand Viper was drawing, a ball of light flew through the window and into her room. She was surprised, not knowing what it was. She grabbed the light in her talons and looked at it curiously. The light moved, tugging her towards the window. Sand tugged it back and stuffed it into a bag hung on her wall. She ignored the light after that. If it was important she would look at it again. It was around this time she was turning ten. Her parents were getting angrier at Sand Viper every day, and soon they started pressuring her to join the SandWing army. Sand Viper, who had been a pacifist for most of her life, was baffled. Join the SandWing army? How could she? Sand was disgusted by this entire situation. Her parents became even more persistent, and soon they forced her to join the SandWing army. Sand Viper packed her bags and threw on a cloak. She made sure to bring everything she needed. Sand Viper even grabbed the bag with the ball of light in it. Sand flew away from the palace. Every second she flew farther away the light grew stronger and tugged her closer to the IceWing border. Sand Viper landed and opened the bag, taking the light out. It hovered in her talons. She waited a few minutes, and soon a cluster of light surrounded her. Sand stepped towards the light and it moved back and closer to the IceWing border. She continued following the light, even when her talons were freezing. [ Story Time :D ] ⦿ Sand Viper ran forward. The light escaped her, lifting over obstacles she could barely see seconds before. Sand opened her wings and pushed off the ground, gliding in the air for a minute. Her talons touched the snowy ground once more. Sand looked around, not knowing where the light was. She walked forward, worried she had lost her way. Her ears perked, hoping she could hear something. Sand Viper walked up a large snowbank. Her claws dug into the snow. The cold pierced through her cloak. Sand Viper shivered. She peeked over the snowbank. An IceWing was below, watching a ball of light. He lifted his talons, grabbing it. His ears perked, and the IceWing turned to look at Sand Viper. Sand blinked. A light appeared near her shoulder. She climbed up the rest of the snowbank and over the hill. ⦿ [ Oki back with the Backstory ] Sand met Lynx, a runaway IceWing animus that was fed up with rules and borders. They talked with each other that night, and Sand learned that Lynx had created the balls of light while he was scared and alone. They spend years traveling with each other, bringing them closer. Lynx and Sand Viper, or Sandy, set up a 'home base' in Possibility where they sell things they find on their travels. ⦿ ⦿ ⦿ ⦿ ⦿ AAAAA This took a while :D Drawing took around and hour and a half, backstory/personality/bio took around two hours.
