Poem: The Freezing Fog The whole village slept, Inside the antique, snowcapped, wooden cabins , for tomorrow would be christmas day. And in their warm beds, The villagers were told to stay. But through their docile rest, Alongside the roaring blizzard winds, The freezing fog had come to play. The villagers left their dreamland, and attempted to flee, But the grouser mayor awoke with a start And shrieked; “They are awake! They must be!” Little did he know, He and the others would be left to rot, Beneath the dirty, falling, rough snow. As the villagers ran, The mayor’s cries became more distant. Running as fast as they could, They believed they could escape. But as they hurried away, It got harder and harder to see. As they hurried, Escape seemed almost impossible.. The fog took their lives, The villagers ran faster, Not knowing the way. The saddest villager slowed so he could be with family, and the fog seized him gladly. The trees coated in ice, The fog Taking more lives. It was not very nice. Only one reached the end, Almost, she escaped. But she was stuck there, Frozen in midair, Grasping the icy fern tree leaves, The ice keeping her in place. Now the whole of the travelers could see, The horrific event that took place that one night. And that's the end. .‿. -@GGoof123
