Heartnose lifted his head, opening his mouth to scent the air. The fur along his spine bristled. "Your right!" He snarled. Maplefish's eyes widened. "What will we do?" She wailed. Heartnose touched his nose to his mate's head. "Nothing, for now." He mewed. "What?!" Frogfur hissed. Heartnose turned to face him. "We don't want to barge into their territory, or we're just as good as them." He hissed. Troutfreckle padded into camp with the rest of the patrol. Nutkit padded over, tail kinked. "I caught a leaf!" She mewed proudly. Troutfreckle purred. "Very good." He mewed. Nutkit smiled and bounded away. "It's your last day." A voice mewed behind him. He turned. "What?" Moondapple had said it. "No signs came. Tomorrow, you will leave."
