Troutfreckle yawned, stretching. He was thankful that Spottedfern had given him three extra days with Nutkit. He watched then kit come over now. She was a mix of her parents- she had her mother's light brown fur, but had brown tabby patches the same color as Frogfur. "Troutfreckle!" She squeaked. "Hello, little one. How was it staying at camp?" He purred. Nutkit sniffed. "I didn't even get to go to the gathering! Now I'm offended!" She squealed. Troutfreckle mrrowed in amusement, but it got stuck in his throat. "Nutkit, I need to tell you something." He croaked. Nutkit tipped her head to one side. "Yeah?" "I might have to leave in three days." Troutfreckle mewed. He licked Nutkit's head. "Just... don't forget me."
