This project is explores how Scratch might scan a grayscale image and then recreate it using the digitized data. Very crude 18-point grayscale scanner and rendering at this point but it works! The first image is what is being scanned. The second image is the rendered image created from the digitized data.
Remix and upload your own grayscale image(s) into the stage's backdrop collection. Interesting to compare the elephant and piano scans. Natural subjects seems to look better... Mathland Ideas Remix to: * change the size of the image * change resolution of the image * distort the image in some way (e.g. pixelate) * increase or decrease brightness * make the image negative Remixes might provide insight into how image editors digitally modify images.
