Description

7 Segment Display "A seven-segment display is a form of electronic display device for displaying decimal numerals that is an alternative to the more complex dot matrix displays. Seven-segment displays are widely used in digital clocks, electronic meters, basic calculators, and other electronic devices that display numerical information" ~ Wikipedia - Super reliable source, I don't care what the teachers say XD I decided to create a super simple pen engine that can be easily backpacked and used as simple as possible in your projects, for when you want to display numbers, or times, in a more fashionable way. --------------------------------------------------------------- HOW TO USE: Go click See Inside and choose which version you would like to choose - The Normal Version - The Lite Version *Do not backpack the sprites that clearly say "DO NOT BACKPACK" - they are only there for the project iteself All features of the Pen Engine is described in the project itself, so click the green flag and view it. It's a really short showcase of everything included, it will take less than 2 minutes. But nonetheless I will also tell you what is included here: - Numbers 0 - 9 Display all numbers, as many digits as you want - Colons and Dots (: and .) Display times using this feature, so you can write 5:30.25 and it will look the same - X and Y position This marks the top left cordinate of the first digit, so all numbers are proceeding. - Number Size Distance between each segment/line. Because of how the scripts work, Number Size scales the number from the Top Left corner of the first digit. So keep that in mind when scaling it. An ideal size is around 20. - Pen Size In scratch feature, thickness of the pen. And ideal size is 3-8, but also depends on the Number Size - Colour In scratch feature, colour of the pen. Value is 1-200 1 is red - 25 is green - 50 is blue - 75 is purple and every 100 it loops, so 100 is red - 125 is green and so on... - Word Wrapping If toggled on using the "not <>" block, then the number gets wrapped down to the next line if the number goes off the edge. Turn it on if using big numbers, otherwise it will look like a jumbled mess of lines on the edge. Also if a number goes below the bottom edge it will stop being rendered, so keep that in mind ---------------------------------------------------------- All these features are present in the normal version of the engine, but in the lite version these features are cut - Word Wrapping - Colons and Dots (: and .) The intent for the lite version is only to display numbers and not much else, so it's simpler overall - Colour The colour parameter in the custom block is cut so you can just use a normal pen block at the start of your project to set the colour That's about all of it! -------------------------------------------------------- Instructions for the project: Just press space The numbers that change is the Pen Engine being showcased and displaying each different feature that can be changed independently in the normal version. *also don't spam space at the end of the project :/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Credits: 100% all programming - @23ScratchMan Music: Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Main Theme - 8 Bit ----------------------------------------------------------- Note: I will allow you to link your project in the comments if you did use this engine in it, so I can see it be used out in the wild. ------------------------------------------------------------ Tags #Pen #Engine #7 #Segment #Number #Display #Numbers #Show #Showcase #Remix #Backpack #Backpackable #23ScratchMan ------------------------------------------------------------- Thanks for viewing!
