In Dungeons & Dragons, drow (the “ow” is pronounced like the exclamation, as in ouch) are dark elves that live in the Underdark, a series of massive caverns deep under the surface that go all over the world. They’re extremely evil, though some break away from the rest of the race to become fighters of good. If you’re wondering about the spiders, drow worship Lolth, the demon queen of spiders and other spider-like beings. The symbol on the drow’s forehead is the elvish character for the letter D.
