CLICK THE FLAG TWICE! For collab with @mapleskytiger I lost a lot of motivation at the end of the montage and it's pretty easy to see.
woot! Maple was asking for a collabs a while back and I volunteered to color for some parts (including this one) and somehow ended up doing the storyboard instead. Not my strong point, but hey, it's cool! (I probably shouldn't be volunteering coloring anyways since I"m trying to do commissions but somehow despite at least 10 people saying they were interested in the poll, no one's signed up for those yet. But if you're interested they're at https://www.deviantart.com/hzpenblade/journal/COLORING-COMMISSIONS-OPEN-820416867 and I'm willing to discount/negotiate/haggle prices if you don't have enough dA points.) So... here we go! Dark blue is crowfeather, yellow is breeze, teal blue is jayfeather. To maple, I'd recommend keeping most of the scripting as it is in here (since it's already lined up and it took way too long) except for any places when you're adding inbetweens. There are some notes on those inside the project. Hope you like it and I didn't give you too much of a pain to work on! Other notes: - the "I" costume (crowfeather running in to save Jay) has a slight motion blur, I think it's... I want to say a radius of 6 on medibang paint? I could be wrong though, and I drew these in size 1920x1440 so it would probably change with the smaller image. - Jayfeather is (at least in my head) mostly a blurry silhouette in the underwater scene because of atmospheric perspective and also I didn't want to bother putting a lot of detail into his pose. He is unconscious at this point but not dead. - Crowfeather's face/eyes are intentionally not drawn in that scene, hopefully the angle is such that that makes sense? I was kind of going for a fragmented/adrenaline/fight-or-flight feel where you couldn't see all the details; in this case that includes Crow's facial expression. -crow was supposed to be initally startled by breezepelt's anger but I'm not sure how well I got that facial expression across -crowfeather doesn't have highlights in his eyes for the first or last scene; he's bored of hunting and it shows in his eyes being flat and not having highlights. In the montage they show up because of the sense of urgency he feels, then vanish again during his conflict with breezepelt. (this could also kind of have some implications that in this moment he seems to be caring more about Jay than Breeze, which... that implication, particularly as breezepelt interperets it as such, seems to be a big part of this scene.) That said, this is your part and you absolutely don't have to follow any of this, but they were things that I was going for with the storyboard/sketch.
