Note: Rider the Robber is rather large in size. If you have a low-end device, you may experience issues. https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/584813702/ ^ A detailed rundown on the game + fun bonus stuff. [Story] Rider is running a little light on cash, and his rental payment is coming up soon. Only one way to fix that. Break into the very oddly designed local bank and steal as much cash as he can carry! Unfortunately, as Rider gets deeper into the vault, he'll find out that the bank's security is quite serious. From cameras to spikes to even banana peels, Rider's adventure will not be easy! Especially with the bank's residents impending Rider's progress... But thanks to the abundance of carelessly scattered weapons and helpful items, Rider has everything he needs to fight back against the bank's mercenaries. So, grab your bat and prepare for a whole lot of fun! [About] Rider the Robber is a project that I originally started back in December of 2020. It was originally a small side-project, and wasn't going to be ultimately much. However, a quick surge of inspiration struck me, and I decided to make the game way bigger than I originally thought it would be. Rider the Robber's entire concept and gameplay was something I had in mind ever since I was little. I used to get on this drawing program, insert a whole bunch of shapes, and pretend I was playing a game, by moving them around.. Apparently, I'm not the only one who did that, according to my friend. Still, kinda sad, huh? Development of Rider the Robber slowed down in February, but resumed at a quicker pace in March, then amplified in April, May and June, slowed down in July, then rocketed back up in August, before finally finishing in September. My music teacher signed me up for Bandlab around mid-march. Originally, I was going to use some copyright-free music for the game's soundtrack, but after composing a theme for the bank, just for fun, I decided to compose a full OST of the game, alongside development. Rider's design was based off his original design from my childhood, a red smiley face with rectangles for limbs. How detailed. I based his design in this game after his original design. Also, he isn't related to Derpboi, if you were wondering. :P For those wondering, this game does indeed take place in the same universe as Corrupt Vs Purity. Obviously not in the same location, though. For those wondering which ending is canon, the true one is. (You need to collect almost every cash possible in the game.) The game's sequel will continue on after Rider's ( spoiler! ) psychotic breakdown. I hope you enjoy this game, I personally had a whole lot of fun throughout development. I hope you can experience the same by playing through it. :)

Space - Use Bat. Q - Use Taser. Z - Consume Pizza. [Instructions] [ Note that this is a brief guide, and does not go over every individual element. There's just too many o -c o ] The main goal of each stage in this game is to collect the required amount of cash scattered about the bank and then enter the level's exit to progress through the game. Money is scattered throughout each stage. You don't need to collect every single coin in each stage, although doing so will increase your overall final score. Simply collecting the required amount will satisfy the coin gate, allowing you to pass through. Civilians and Guards need to be avoided. Should Rider come within close distance of them, Rider's suspicion will rise, indicated by a bar at the bottom of the screen. Filling this bar up will result in a game over. Multiple other hazards can increase Rider's suspicion as well, such as cameras or searchlights. Weapons can be used to knockout guards and civilians, the most common one being the bat. They can also be used to disable most security devices found in the bank. You can only hold a certain amount of weapons at one time, so make sure you use them while you can! Multiple hazards in the bank can damage Rider. Rider's health can be tracked by the counter on the top right of the screen. Rider has a maximum health of 100, but later in the game this can be upgraded to 150. Should you run out of health, or cause too much panic, you'll lose, although you'll have the opportunity to continue. Doing so will put you back to the first level of the current area. This will erase your total cash and any items you had. Buttons deactivate or activate certain structures, most commonly gates. These are often essential to completing the level, so make sure to press them if you see one. After a certain amount of levels, you'll encounter a boss. These need to be struck with weapons repeatily while dodging their attacks. Keep in mind that weapons will always be provided in these stages, so there's no need to stockpile weapons before entering a boss level. And that covers the basics of the game. There are plenty more features for you discover while playing. If you need help with something, make sure to comment! [Credits] Hanna Barbera, for a majority of the sound effects.
