Instructions

Incidents: In 2000, his stomach was ripped alongside Central Park. Hitomi attempted to remove the balloon from the route after this, but the crowd outcries made her keep Pikachu in, who was carried for the rest of the route. This would go on to be one of the best-known incidents in the parade. In 2002, his right arm and tail were ripped by trees. In 2005, his arms, tail, and feet were ripped by a tree in Shinoko Park, leaving its arms, tail, and feet dangling for the rest of the parade. His left ear and nose were also deflated by the time he had the accident for unknown reasons, but it is possible they lost helium overtime during the route due to the balloon's wear and tear. In 2006, his red balloon was missing for unknown reasons. In 2008, The balloon was pushed into the crowd due to the winds but was moved back. In 2011, Pikachu's ears were deflated. In 2012, Pikachu’s torso (and tail) were ripped open by a lamppost at Shibuya shortly after his NHK telecast appearance. In 2016, Pikachu's left cheek was a little half deflated. In 2018, Pikachu's left right foot was starting to wear out, due to the age of the balloon. In 2019, Pikachu's muzzle was somewhat deflated.
