Hey guys! As March creeps up on us, it's time to choose leaders and co leaders for the March session of SWC! Firstly, thank you to all of the past hosts and creators of SWC! @Candylanguagegirl for hosting the first two SWCs and creating it, @TheEnderQueen for hosting the 3rd SWC, @EcIipsed for hosting SWC from the 4th to the 7th, and @Sunshine_the_Rainbow for hosting alongside me for the 8th session of SWC. And yes, this is going to be our 9th SWC! Time passes so quickly! ~ FAQ ~ (please read, even if you've participated before!) Q. What is SWC? A. SWC is a triannual virtual writing camp. It runs for the months of March, July and November, and you make a word goal for yourself, and try to reach that by the end of camp. There's also a competitive aspect with cabin points (you'll be in one of 10 cabins), and you can do activities such as word sprints or word crawls for points :) The camp goes from the 1st of March to the 31st of March and it's online so you can be there 5 minutes or 3 hours a day, at any time. Q. When are leader applications closed? A. 11:59pm EST on January 17th. Q. When will leaders be announced and notified? A. Sometime on January 18th- they will be announced on this project, and I will individually message them. Q. When will co leaders be chosen? A. Any time between January 18th and January 31st. Q. How are co leaders chosen? A. I have no influence over which co leaders are chosen. Each leader individually chooses their own co leaders, and they choose either one or two co leaders from the unaccepted leader apps and co apps. If you are only interested in being a co leader, please state that in your application. You are also not allowed to advertise your application to leaders. Q. I've never been a leader before. Will past leaders be chosen over me? A. It solely depends on the quality of your application, and the criteria mentioned in the project (design, personality, answers). It will most likely be around 7 or 8 experienced leaders to 2 or 3 inexperienced leaders, unless all the inexperienced apps are amazing and all the experienced ones aren't, or vice versa. If you are an inexperienced leader, it is required you have at least one experienced co leader. If you are an experienced leader, you can do whatever you want with co leaders! One co leader is recommended, by the way, but two is fine. Q. When are camper sign ups out? A. February 1st. Q. Why do you need to know my timezone? A. This is purely for the purpose of choosing co leaders. It is heavily recommended that the leaders of each cabin are in different timezones in order to make adding word counts and such easier. Q. How do you communicate with leaders and co leaders? A. I'll invite everyone to a discussion forum for leaders and co leaders ONLY. Q. What are the cabin names? A. There are ten cabins: ~ Adventure ~ Contemporary ~ Dystopian ~ Fantasy ~ Historical Fiction (Hi-Fi) ~ Horror ~ Mystery ~ Realistic Fiction (Real-Fi) ~ Science Fiction (Sci-Fi) ~ Thriller The cabin names have no correlation with what genre you write. i have no idea what cabin i want to lead. help meeeeee it's gonna be either mystery, sci fi or dystopian (they're the only ones i've never been in) :thonk: Q. Is there a backup cabin? A. No, it's the same as last time; we're trying to limit the number of cabins and leaders :) Q. How will I know if you have seen my application? A.
