Spread the word! #StopDeclawing Other problems with Declawing: @Hawkstripe: Plus if your cat is left outside and meets a hostile animal it can`t protect itself( well it can but only with its teeth) @Songheart: After initial declawing, the cat's paws hurt every time they put pressure on them. Oftentimes, they get terrible infections from using the litter box. Also, the litter gets into the wound and hurts terribly, like dirt in a puncture wound (I know from experience...) and the cat will most likely stop using the litterbox. This creates problems for the owners, who will most likely euthanize the cat or give it to a shelter. Cats are /dying/ because of this. SafariSeal7: declawed cats have to relearn how to walk! after declawing, the poor cat's paws are really hurt! (look it up, I know!) I believe declawing should be made illegal. you can literally just use cat claw covers. @catsarefun1: Both of my cats are de-clawed. My mother thought she was doing the right thing. But they were in so much pain while they had their casts on. Then my mother learned that de-clawing cats is the same as removing parts of their fingers. She felt awful, so she swore that the next cat we get, we will not declaw them.
