—Notes— EDIT: trending oml whaaaaat? Tysm guys ilysm!!! EDIT: HOLY LORD! 10TH ON TRENDING? THANKS SO MUCH YOU GUYS! <3 I seriously never thought I’d get this far, but I guess I did.. Wow- I’m in shock- I- thanks for all of the loves <333 —Intro— Hey guys! I decided to make an art process (and draw an animal for the first time in a while-) so here you go! <3 By the way, if you’d like to, help suggest names for him/them/her! I’d love to see what you guys think. By the way, if you’d like to, remix a drawing you created, using this process! :) --Art Process— Click to move on, to see the art process! 1: Make a sketch layer, always sketch. Sketching helps with allowing you to know where everything goes- spend a lot of time on it. For this I use the HB pencil in Procreate. 2: Lower the sketch opacity, and trace it to make your lineart! Do the lineart on a second layer. 3: Hide the sketching, and clean up the lineart if it’s not already clean. Make it clean as possible. 4: Color it in, starting a new layer below the lines. You can use either a magic wand tool and fill bucket, clicking the reference option, or just manually coloring everything in. 5: Shading. Just start shading. Use a clipping layer above your coloring, and below the lineart. I use the water pen and blending tool, to get a nice gradient. 6: More shading! Just keep following the above step, but use a new layer to prevent- i.e. a yellow blending with a purple. 7: Follow the above steps, new layer, shade, blend, ect. Also, remember to follow accurate lighting physics if possible. It can be hard to get this right, so practice takes perfect! 8: Even more shading, just follow the above. :,) 9: New layer! Add details! To do eyes, I use a pencil tool and make little lines going towards wherever the pupil would be, and then I blend them in. I repeat several times with a few different colors. To make the pupil, I use a dark shade of the eye color first, blend it in, and then add straight black over it, maybe blending that the slightest bit. To add highlights, blend in a light color, or white, and then add maybe a little bit of said solid color. 10: New layer above all highlights and shading. Select a water pen, or any kind of paint brush, and start painting in main shading spots. I usually use dark cool colors, saturated works best. Set the layer either to linear burn, or multiply, or something similar. 11: To color the lineart, make a clipping layer above it. Use a darker version of a surrounding color, maybe adjust the hue and saturation as well. I usually only color the lines that are “inside” of the character. 12: And done! :) -Disclaimer: I use the art program Procreate to draw. If you’d like to follow this tutorial with a different program, you still can, just adjust the techniques a bit if some tools aren’t available.- —Credits— Music is Ultimately by Khai Dreams, Sunset Lover by Petit Biscuit, or Here Come A Thought All art is by @FourFerralCats The character and design is by @FourFerralCats Art Process and writing by @FourFerralCats
