That’s a lot- wow So to celebrate, I am hosting a dmc! Ok, I’m going to say a bunch of mushy stuff real quick, then we’ll get to the rules, then the prizes :D just stay with me ok, it won’t take long- You guys are amazing- all 2000+ of you <3 never would I have expected to reach this many follows, as cliche as that sounds. You’re certainly encouraging, and I can guarantee that without you guys I would have quit art long long ago- You just- matter a lot ok? so without further ado, I give you the rules to my dmc! Rules: 1. You are not required to ask to enter, or tell me who you’re entering for! Just go ahead and enter :D 2. All types of entries are allowed: art pieces, memes, animations, spoofs, and even writing (if you have at least one drawing to go along with it). 3. Please remix your entry! The only time this rule doesn’t apply is if your entry is a meme or something similar! If your entry does fall into that category, then post the link as a reply to the comment I will post on this project! 4. There’s no limit to how many characters you draw, or how you draw them. Literally anything is fine- anything from an icon to a fullybody to a spoof to a small comic- literally anything. 5. I understand that I don’t have many animal characters to satisfy the animal-loving people of scratch- so I will give y’all permission /just this once/ to turn my human characters into animals when you draw them. 6. This dmc’s official due date is January first :) I want to give y’all a nice long while to finish your entires! I will only give extensions if more than three people ask for one. 7. I do not have a preference on which characters you draw! Drawing a certain character will probably not give you a better chance of winning than another character will. BUT if you must know, these are my favorites: Dane, Ben, Xord, Quix, Noah, Connor, Heron, and Kolten. 8. Please have fun! Don’t do this to impress me please- I want you to enjoy drawing your entries, so please draw them in a way you’d enjoy! OKIE now to the prizes I’m not sure if there’s an official way to judge a dmc, but this is how I’m going to do it: I’m going to have 6 main categories. Each one is going to have a 1st place and a 2nd place. Outside of the 6 categories, there will be 5 other slots for 3rd place winners, not related to any category. 1st place winners will get an icon, a bust shot of any character they want, and their choice of 1. A shaded fullbody of one of their characters or 2. A design/redesign with a complete ref 2nd place winners will get either an icon or a shaded headshot and a bust shot. 3rd place winners will get an icon. HOWEVER in the event that hardly anyone joins this: There will be no 2nd place slot, and there will be only 3 3rd place slots, but the prizes will be the same. Ok, now to the categories! 1. Best overall art. This category has to do with the artistic skill of the artist that made this entry- this one will be judged only by the art. 2. The most comical. I am encouraging comedic entries because people seem to enjoy them- I sure as heck enjoy them. So whichever entries I find most humorous win this ^^ 3. The most true to the character. This may be a little harder since you’ll have to know some stuff about my characters- (I’ll list ways to learn such things in the N+C) but basically, the one who wins this category is the one who’s entry is the most true to/fitting to the character(s) the entry features. Aka it’s a little more in depth than just being a drawing. 4. The most- mostest. I’m not encouraging quantity over quality, but I will say that most animations and memes will fall into this category, as will drawings with a ton of characters in them. Pretty much anyone who’s entry is above and beyond what it needed to be (for those of y’all who are feeling ambitious) 5. Personal preference- No tips for this one haha because these are the ones for the entries I liked that didn’t fall into any other categories. 6. Sketches. For those of you who don’t have time for anything more than maybe a one panel sketch comic, or a 3 second sketch spoof, or a small sketch headshot- this is the category for you. Please don’t do purposely lazy sketches if you have time for something else though bc this category is for the ones who genuinely don’t have time but still would like to enter.
