Lambda was born a giant power increase. He accidentally killed his grandfather when he showed his full power. Ever since, he didn't want to train, but he did. However, when he ran from home with Kappa, he did small 10 minute magic and physical exercises. When Cedous mind controlled Lambda, Kappa battled him but lost. In fact, Lambda fought the mind control and defeated Cedous and defused him.
