A government of Humans called "Foreclaimers" turned the planet into a technological paradise. They were expanding their reach to the moon until disaster struck. A large explosion devastated the Foreclaimers' mission and the moon was lost. The only reminder being rings around the Earth (much like Saturn's rings) made from lunar pieces. Following this event, the planet was sent into a world-wide apocalypse. The rings cast a shadow on some areas of the planet, bringing about record freezing temperatures to areas that had never seen them before. These areas are nearly uninhabitable. With the moon no longer in it's normal state to control the tides, combined with thousands of years of melting glaciers at the poles, sea-levels rose drastically. This would turn the Earth into a planet of islands without any mainland. Those who remained, started a rebellion against the Foreclaimers. Most, if not all, were killed off. Descendants of the Foreclaimers made a new faction - "Reclaimers" - to 'reclaim' control of the planet and 'fix' what they've done. The islands themselves are like snowflakes - no two islands are alike. Some have small kingdoms, cities, forests, deserts, you name it. More notably, ancient Foreclaimer tech and ruins can be found on some of these islands. Most of which are sought out by pirates. Legend states, there are 12 legendary artifacts hidden by the Foreclaimers- also said to bring the planet into a brighter future. (So basically, there's 12 rulers and 12 prophecy/artifact weapons. A person does not need to be royalty to wield such weapons, though.)
Everybody :D (Oof- this is probably the worst time to share this. Since a lot of you guys are busy and all, don't worry about rushing to make an application. I'm still developing the lore and everything.) ----- Character Rules: -Only Humans, Robots, and Cyborgs please! No magic of any kind, but scientific/technological enhancements are allowed. -Foreclaimers are pretty much extinct. Those who survived and their descendants call themselves "Reclaimers". Their goal is to take over the planet. Since it's a faction, you don't have to be human to be a Reclaimer. -The number 12 is very important to the planet. While there are a good chunk of islands with kingdoms on them, 12 that have the most influence would supposedly have a seat in the council at the Capital. However, all the seats - except 1 - are empty right now. (To have a royal character ruling an island, please ask me first!) -The Foreclaimers originally had a group of twelve defending the planet. During the rebellion at least a thousand years ago, twelve of their artifact weapons were lost. (To have these weapons, please ask me first ! (and have a good reason why).. - I am currently pending suggestions for weapons. :3) -Robots that look indistinguishable from humans (androids?) are very rare, as most were sent to the moon. If you make a strikingly human robot, you'll need to come up with how they survived a fall back to Earth and lived for the next thousand years or so. (PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE- do /not/ make Robot/Human hybrids. There's a slim chance I'll consider it in the future, but for now - they don't exist.)(Other robots - like robotic animals for instance - do exist.) -The recommended age for your character is at least 15, but don't make characters younger than 3 if they are on their own. Humans/Cyborgs live about a century and Robots can live much longer as long as they are well taken care of. -This RP is really for the sake of fun. As I mentioned, I'm still developing lore but if you've got ideas for weapons, islands, etc- don't be afraid to let me know you want to include them.
