Eggification (タマゴ化 Tamago-ka) is the name of the curse or disease-like phenomena that plagues Tamagotchi Planet near the end of the original Tamagotchi! anime. The curse involves Tamagotchis turning into living eggs and losing all their personality, becoming a literal shell of their former selves. This arc lasted from episodes 139 to 143, during which the series took a much more serious tone. Whether the curse appeared in ancient times is still unknown. it also affect Esme and Roy.
