Two moons burned brightly in the dark sky, causing shadows to dancing around the nervous green dragon pacing on a beach. His tail trailed after him, and nearby was a rather large shadow tipped over and flopped on the sand. The dragon’s head whipped around to look at it. He whispered something to himself softly and crept forward. The shadow moved again. It was almost the size of the green dragon, maybe a little larger, and could move quickly. The shadow turned a sapphire-blue dragon as moonlight flooded into the craggly rocks. “Sapphire?” The green dragon whispered. The blue dragon flicked her tail and one of her nose stripes lit up. /Hello,/ She flashed. /Tang./ Tang blinked. She wasn’t saying anything. Why didn’t Sapphire just speak? He realized she had a large pouch tied around her neck. Pearls covered one of the straps, not the other three, and a seashell marked the pouch opening. Something inside the pouch rocked, and a small nose poked out. Tang too a step back. “Sapphire,” he said worriedly. “Whats th-” Sapphire walked forward and pushed him towards their hut, making him stop speaking. What was going on? Sapphire opened the door and pushed Tang inside, then closed the door quietly. She opened the pouch and pulled out a small, tiny dragonet. “Gah!” Tang exclaimed, backing away. “Who’s that?” Sapphire sighed. “Our daughter, silly.” She set the dragonet down. “WH- HOW?” Tang hissed. The dragonet wobbled forward and grabbed one of his talons. Tang pulled it away quickly, and Sapphire gave him a stern look. “I never told you. It was a few weeks after the egg came when I took her to the hatchery for us commoners. I made sure no one knew because…” Sapphire stopped talking and picked up the dragonet, cradling her in her arms. “You’re important to the queen. I don’t want you to lose your job because of me. Because of us.” Tang glanced at Sapphire, then the dragonet in her arms. He wasn’t like that. Was he? He took a step forward tentatively. Then another, and another until he was able to grab the dragonet. “Whats her name?” Sapphire thought for a moment. “I was thinking Lionfish.” “Oh, too bad. I was hoping for Barnacle.” Sapphire giggled, covering her snout with her talon. “I see.” Tang smiled. He glanced at Lionfish, who looked up at him with shimmering blue eyes. “No matter what, we’ll protect you,” Tang said. “Our little Lion.” Sapphire opened her mouth to speak, but only a little whisper came. "And.... and we'll make sure you never will face the queen."
BOOM ENDCARD So yeah. I'm gonna have to make a better thumbnail for this, but I honestly like this one. And that thing above her head is a broken crown. I donno what to say. Bye...
