The ground around Papyrus erupted with blue lasers and bones, destroying the path to the Underground. The humans ran in fear, and some unfortunate souls fell off the cliff. Frisk backflipped out of the way, and Chara hit the deck. Asriel got blasted backward, but landed on his feet with his swords summoned. "Who was that!?" He asked. "I don't know, but Papyrus disappeared. I don't think he's dead..." Frisk answered, a bit of fear on her face. Chara said nothing, but smiled devilishly. "I know who. The attacks are all too familiar for me." She looked over at the remaining pathway. Asriel and Frisk followed her gaze to see a familiar face. "Paps, talk to me... bro, are you ok?" Sans said, cradling Papyrus' half-blasted body. "W-WELL... Y-YOU COULD SAY THAT, I (cough) GUESS..." He responded, his voice weak. Sans breathed a sigh of relief, then looked up. "We need to get him healed." Everyone felt a shiver go down their spine, as Sans' eyes were pitch black. { ( [ TWENTY MINUTES LATER ] ) } "So he's alright?" Sans asked his ex-colleague Alphys, who was treating Papyrus' injuries. "W-well, hopefully, h-he'll recover in a-a few d-days..." She stammered, nervously. She knew what Sans was capable of when he got mad. "Good. Thanks, Alphys." He said, and teleported out of her lab back to the surface. Frisk, Asriel and Chara were sitting in a circle outside, watching the moon arc across the sky. "it's very pretty..." Asriel noted. "Yeah." Chara said grumpily. Something was bothering her, but nobody knew what. "Chara, are you okay?" Frisk asked her friend. "Yeah, duh. i'm just waiting for the humans to get back and slaughter us." "That's not gonna happen." Frisk and Sans said. The pacifist jumped backward, clearly startled. "Sans, don't do that!" She whisper-yelled. He only chuckled. "ok. well, papyrus is gonna be ok, and that's all i'm happy about right now." Frisk smiled happily. "Oh, really? that's great!" "yeah, it is... but... we have another problem." Frisk's smile immediately disappeared. "Uh, what problem?" Sans sighed. "Unfortunately, the humans aren't gonna slaughter us... they're gonna vaporize us." He pointed down the mountain at a massive mortar being built. Near the cannon, big shells that read [Point Eight Oh] were sitting in a large canister. "Oh..." was all Frisk could manage. Chara squinted at the Mortar. "We have to stop these guys. If we get Dunked-" She winked at Sans, who sweatdropped- "-There's no real point in doing all this again." Sans and Frisk nodded. But when they turned back to the Mortar and its ammo, it had turned completely white. no outlines, no shadows, nothing. "What the [Nope] is this!?" Chara shouted. "I don't know... Sans, do you-" Frisk turned to her skeleton friend, whose eyes had turned dark. "S-Sans...?" She uttered, stepping back. "I know who this is. Don't worry, just wait." he said. "Okay...?" Frisk said, turning back to the mortar to see a very familiar ghostly face. "Hey there, Sans." the figure said. "hey, Gaster." he replied.
