In a society where chipmunks have evolved to become the dominant species, Piper is new to the Acorn District, having been reassigned after problems in her old district that she wants to forget. She worries about being able to make friends at her new school, but almost immediately upon arriving, she meets Chara and Rynwen, two super friendly chipmunks who immediately become her best friends. One day, the three decide to take a walk in the woods and discover a rare moonstone that grants them unimaginable power. When they discover that the moonstone is a crucial tool in a secret plot, they try their hardest to protect the stone. But with Piper unsure what her power even is, and their impending rank-graduation coming soon causing them to be busier than ever, will they be able to keep the stone from falling into the wrong hands?
