Deviana is a member of local fighting aristocracy in her region, and has a small amount of royal blood, which is where she gets her magic. She is a pyromancer, with the ability to conjure flame, which she can use in hand-to-hand combat or also throw- although throwing it or sustaining a burn for a long period of time is extremely taxing on her. Her eyes glow when she uses her power. Deviana is trained in martial arts passed down in her family, and is the guardian for her city-state. She prefers to fight in the dark, because she has extremely good hearing and can echolocate when needed, which gives her an advantage over opponents. She can fight using many varieties of sword as well, such as broadswords, rapiers, claymores, scimitars, and cutlasses, but prefers a khopesh as her favorite weapon. Local city-states are being threatened by an emperor who claims to want to unite the world under his power; Deviana is forced to band together with former enemies to stand against him. Via a careful combination of espionage, military tactics, guerrilla warfare, and politics, she must overcome the emperor. At the same time, supply lines to her region are being cut off and the people are in a state of unrest.
