(spoilers done) But its not her last life, and she had to do that, because Squirrelstar was going to kill her sister, Dewdapple. Note that Birdtail's generation is 3 gens after Squirrel's, (whom I believe didn't die and went on to be leader) but I tink that leaders live quite a bit longer than normal cats =3
