Her latest criminal expedition had seen her looting a bank in Ara, but unfortunately, she had been seen. A rookie mistake. She stumbled over a tree root and fell onto her front. She got up and scarpered just as one of the aristocracy's thugs caught up with her. "Found her!" he yelled. Argent needed to shut him up before they all got onto her trail. She ran back to the thug and stared into his eyes. "You saw nothing," she whispered. "I saw nothing," he agreed in a gormless voice. Argent left the hypnotised thug, satisfied that he was too stupid to break out of the trance she had put him in. As she ran, she imagined the other thugs trying to beat the one she'd hypnotised into giving up information, and then realising that he couldn't and that she was much more cunning and clever than your typical robber. Then Argent was distracted by a cry for help. It came from about 100 metres north-west (as well as illusion and hypnotic powers, Argent is good at geography xD). Argent dashed over to the point where the sound had come from. She was very surprised. It was a rabbit, cornered against a gnarled yew tree, with a terrified expression on its face. Circling it was a light grey cat with freckles, a blue pendant and blue eyes, grinning like Argent did when she found a load of 24K gold (yes this universe still measures gold purity in carats). She decided she must intervene. "Hey!" she snapped at the cat,"What are you doing?" she put herself in front of the rabbit, noting that it had a symbol on its forehead, like her. "What are YOU doing?" the cat growled,"That's a perfectly good snack you're protecting!" "It cried for help!" Argent snarled,"You can't just EAT something that does that!" "Ugh, morals," the cat sneered,"Just do me a favour and go away before you die an untimely and unfortunate death. She looked up to fix Argent with a ravenous glare and seemingly noticed her for the first time. "You," she snarled, "Argent." Then she lunged at her. The rabbit extended its long ears, hitting the cat with a wall of energy before she could swipe at Argent. As the cat was recovering, Argent thanked the rabbit for protecting her. "Don't mention it," it said, "The name's Potash, but erm...you can call me Ash." "I'm Argent," Argent replied. Then the cat lunged at them again. Argent grabbed her head and looked into her eyes, saying "You don't know me. We are not a threat." "Do you really think that would work on me?" The cat laughed, pushing her off, "I am Apeiron, the arche!" she spewed blue fire at Argent, who dodged it in the nick of time. "Come on!" Argent scooped Ash into her gold-filled bag and ran off. "You cannot escape me!" they could hear Apeiron shouting, "For I am all-knowing and all-powerful!
