Instructions

Click the green flag while holding shift key (to put in Turbo mode). Click the green flag to start. The program illustrates musical patterns of three against four. We hear bars of four beats per measure with the three opening pitches in Jupiter, from Holst's the Planets. The notes are E, G, then A. As the invisible radius cycles around like a clock, three pitches repeat at four notes per measure. The four notes (one measure) plays at each third of a turn. A drum beat also sounds at the start of every four notes played, the start of each four note measure (one for each third of a cycle around the clock. Hit Stop sign to halt all, then hit "j" to hear a recording of the opening of Holst's Jupiter (Marine Band)

Description

The code draws a simple circle drawn in twelve sections (radius is constant). As the invisible radius cycles around like a clock, drum beats sound at every cycle, at 3 o'clock, 6 o'clock, 9 o'clock, and 12 o'clock.
