-Appledusk, Darkstar and Ravenwing are working together. Their plot is for RiverClan warriors to basically go out and pretend to be in love with other clan’s cats. Eventually they expose the other clan cat, which results in more kits for RiverClan! [Raven and Dark are siblings.] -Mapleshade is one of the victims of this plot. She wasn’t meant to survive anyway, they planned on Ravenwing exposing her, her having to give the kits up and be ‘accepted’ into RC, only to be poisoned by their medicine cat. -The rest of the book continues all the same, however Raven, Apple and Dark all go to the Dark Forest (Reedshine pities Mapleshade, but was unaware of the situation). Mapleshade decides they aren’t worth killing again and instead makes her deal with Crookedkit, but instead of cursing him, she does it as a deal with StarClan so that she can join them and see her kits again if she proves that she can forgive Appledusk’s lineage. -She succeeds in teaching Crookedkit good values (he turns out the same but instead of blaming Mapleshade for his family’s death she comforts him, he turns out the same) and is accepted into StarClan, where she finds that Reedshine has been caring for her kits. She is originally upset, but eventually ends up building a romantic relationship with Reedshine and can finally be a mother to her kits.
