Ok, so apparently this got featured? Thanks, ST! --- I made this forever ago and then forgot about it because I wanted to make a full version with cutscenes and better game mechanics but then that never happened so we have this. (I did add music, though, which wasn't there before!) Since the in-game instructions only show up once, I'll copy them here too. MAIN INSTRUCTIONS: -Collect all of the heart shards to finish. -Use the pink arrows to navigate. -Press space to show or hide inventory. It has valuable information in it. -Not all of the spaces in the inventory will be filled, as this is the beta version. Garden puzzle instructions: Get all the flowers the right amount of water! -Click on the green buttons to change the flow through their hoses. -There's only enough total flow for all the plants combined, so adding flow to one plant may take away from another. So yeah! This is my thingy that I made a little under a year ago! Like I said, I wanted to make this a bit more polished, so if I actually found the motivation there are some things I'd definitely change (e.g. the heart shards all glow in completely different ways? And one of them doesn't glow at all? I also wish I"d been able to provide more visual or auditory cues as to how/why//when you can or can't do something -- for example (SPOILERSSPOILERSPOILER) you can't cross the river until you put down the board, but there's no cue as to the fact that the arrows across the river aren't unlocked yet. Similarly, you can't get the tennis ball from the tiger pit until you have the fishing rod, but since the fishing rod is probably already in your inventory by that point and there's no cutscene or anything, it's a little unclear what the point of the fishing pole was or how you got the tennis ball. (END OF SPOILERS) Overall, though, I am quite proud of the art on this. Yes, it was rushed, but for something rushed I feel like the atmosphere worked out quite well. :) Also, if you're curious about the story/concept/what's going on, here's the elevator pitch: A little girl goes searching through the woods behind her house to gather up the pieces of her sister's broken heart and put them back together.
Programs used: Medibang Paint and Firealpaca (for art) Scratch (for coding and dog-barking sound) LMMS (for music/chord sounds) And I think that's it. Pretty simple. :)
