< Arrow Keys > Eating chips while drawing challenge: COMPLETE! (Like I would turn THAT down) ~ ᴍɪsᴋᴏ ~ ᴅʀᴜᴘᴇᴡɪɴɢ ~ ᴍ ~ ʙᴀɴᴅɪᴛ ~ ~ ᴛʀɪʙᴇ ~ Drupewings are rare, hardly seen or known, their numbers driven back by the rotten king Joyn of Mezokarp. They were one family, and now even less. Misko doesn't know of a living kin, though he'd die to save one if he ever found them. ~ sᴛᴏʀʏ & ᴄʜᴀʀᴀᴄᴛᴇʀ ~ Misko is a bandit, an outlaw, hated only by those who don't know him. He's a friendly, courageous guy, first to help friends and leap into danger, and is pretty handy with a sword. Unfortunately, he lost it while being chased by the posse, and only has his stolen treasure of a lamp at the moment. Misko was a prince of the Drupe, but left to explore the continent. He returned home to a burned castle and a kingdom ruled by King Joyn, who he actively fights against. For Mezokarp, for his lost family, for his love, and for him. The cherry-red dragon took a leap off the cliff, swooping down beneath his hidden home behind the waterfall. They wouldn't find him here... He looked around at the soft green grass that cushioned the ground below his talons, and couldn't help wondering to himself. "Was that time too close?" But only for a second. Too close? Misko? Never. This was what he lived anyways. What could he do if he couldn't try his luck every now and then. He set the gold-dusted lamp down on his bedside rock with a satisfied nod at it's glimmering magnificy. Someone could use this, and that's what mattered. With Joyn keeping Mezokarp in the dark, dragons needed a little extra light from somewhere.. Misko chuckled to himself at his clever thought. "Too close.. Ha!" No, this was not nearly close enough. Cause soon, he'd been thinking. Soon, he'd been hoping. Soon, he knew he'd be back not just near Joyn's castle, but in it. And a certain captured princess would soon be rescued...
Art; Misko : Me! @SilvertheCoder Story and species name: @Silverthecoder Character and DTA: @ninjascratch06 (owo now belongs to me as well) ᴀʀᴛ ᴘʀᴏᴄᴇss! (For those of you who are interested) Arrow Keys! 1. Tostitos. Plain. 2. I start with plain outline sketch, figuring out where we want everything to go. 3. Then I draw the lineart, it doesn't always go right over the sketch, that's mainly an idea, not a determined map. I change anything that needs to be. 4. (New layers) I then do a base of the main color of Misko, he's a nice cheerfully bright red and garnet-brown. Kinda reminds me of a cherry tree! (Which is where the name of his tribe comes from, ask me about it if ya' like!) 5. I do a lot more coloring in and experimenting with different brushes, any last things I forgot in the main lineart. (Like, I dunno, A LEG.) 6. in new layers I use lights and darks to change the lighting, then I change the opacity on that to make it look like, well, lighting. 7. And we're done! (Until I improve more) Misko's ref art made him seem like such a cheerful fellow! So I knew that he wasn't just any old outlaw bandit. Here he's just escaped the Mezokarp Deputy's posse, with his treasure of a royal lamp in talon. It may look small, but is undoubtedly very important to someone! Misko's expression is a bit surprised they'd chased him so far, yet mischievous and relishing, cause he knows no one can chase him far enough. Drawn in Autodesk Sketchbook, a great free drawing program!
