The part of the parabola where X is greater than zero and less than 1 is of interest. Click on the Green Flag, enter a value for R (R greater than zero and less than 4), and verify that f(x) does graph as a parabola with height equal to R.

The differences between graphing f(x) and iterating f(x) need to be understood and appreciated if a deeper understanding of these topics is desired. There are an infinite number of values for x between zero and one and therefore an infinite number of points on the parabola. Another way to say is to state that f(x) is continuous between zero and one.
