Being the runt, he always fell short of the expectations set for him. The first time he tried to escape the tribe, he was caught and his punishment almost proved fatal (hence all the scars). As soon as he was well enough to stand, he attempted to escape again, and he successfully fled. Now, he wanders far away from his home, hoping to find a peaceful tribe that will accept him as their own.
