Instructions

Archived. I have left Scratch. This is a Scratch 2.0 project. This was intended to be a open-source alternative to Vybur Rift, but that project is long gone. NOTICE: Currently, only direct connections using the acoustic coupler setup works. HOW TO CONNECT - Acoustic Coupler 1. Attach headphones to 2 PCs. 2. From one PC, place that PC's headphones onto the other PC's microphone, and vice versa. 3. Launch OpenRIFT and connect! HOW TO CONNECT - Direct Connection 1. Connect 4-pin 3.7mm jack splitters to two PCs. 2. Connect the jack splitters together using 3-pin 3.7mm cables (Note: Audio Out -> Audio In). 4. Launch OpenRIFT and connect!

Description

Introducing OpenRIFT! The open source dial up service for Scratch! Features: > Dial anyone and send messages and data up to a byte per second! > Built in error correction to fix messages on unreliable lines! > Full ASCII-8 support! Inspired by RIFT by Vybur Services. See https://www.vybur.com/Rift/ for Vybur RIFT! OpenRIFT uses a different command set for communication, making it incompatible with Vybur RIFT. OpenRIFT Beta v0.1.3b1 (stable)
