Description

Woah, what's this? A scrolling platformer of sorts? Yup! If you've been around here long enough, you would probably know of a scrolling platform I made by the name of Super Mario Scratch World! (https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/73500004/) I never got around to finishing it, or really doing any level past 1-2. Anyway, an issue with that was that nothing in it was really made by me, both the platforming and scrolling scripts weren't made by me, I just tweaked them to make them work in a scrolling 2D platformer. Which brings us to today, where I sat down, and attempted to make a full 2D scrolling platformer, and I have to say, I think it came out pretty well, it even has Y Scrolling, something SMSW didn't have. Feel free to use this as a base in remixing, however the code is somewhat complex, and you'll probably have to adjust the collision detection to match your character's size (Unless you just recolour Fluffy). Oh yeah, you've probably seen some characters in here, Fluffy (the Eevee your playing as), is in the welcome project (which I may redo at some point, some of the character descriptions are a little outdated.) The other 4 characters, Bounce the Fennekin, Spike the Riolu, Sizzle the Vulpix and Feather the Fennekin were all announced in this: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/280923767/ project. Though, I plan on revealing more about them all soon-ish (including why they all have scarves) If you haven't already figured it out, This is a demo of sorts, showing off somethings I've been able to create in scratch, this is becoming a full game at some point, with a unique story, and 4 different playable characters. That also means somethings may change about the whole engine in the meantime. Credits: Nintendo (The Goomba, as well as a couple of sound effects), HAL Labs (The music), Pokémon Company/Game Freak (Eevee, Vulpix, Riolu, Fennekin), Bandi Namco (Some super smash bros. sound effects) Music: Kirby Star Allies - Green Gardens Fun Facts: - Inside the project, there's some assets that'll most likely be used in the full game, such as health bars for all the characters - Originally, when working on this, Yoshi was used, as I never really had an idea for a full game at that point.
