She snarled,"Your time is up, Aether. What have you decided?" Aether growled,"I will never join you. NEVER." "Are you so sure about that?" Apeiron was breathing in his face now, probably getting ready for the fatal strike. It was way too close for comfort, "What about when your friends are all DEAD, and Phlostigon is living like a prince at my side, brainwashed into obedience, and your family is trapped in a state of eternal torment?" "My family are dead already. You killed them." The words tasted bitter on his tongue, like admitting they were dead meant he was giving them up. "I can bring them back to life," Apeiron hissed,"I could kill Phlostigon, just like that. So you'd better be careful how you speak to me." her teeth were dangerously close to his jugular vein(do cats have jugular veins?). "NO! ANYONE, YOU CAN KILL ANYONE, BUT NOT MY PHLOSTIGON!" Aether cried. He'd lost his family and his home, but he wasn't about to lose the love of his life. "Not Phlostigon, eh?" Apeiron licked her lips (do cats have lips?) hungrily, "How about we make a deal? If you join me on my world conquest, Phlostigon will live. If you refuse...Well, it needn't be said." Aether's heart caught in his throat. It was a matter of words keeping Phlostigon alive now. If he said the wrong thing... "Too slow!"Apeiron dug her teeth into his neck. Aether was dying... "Aether, wake up!" Someone was shaking him. He jolted awake to see Phlostigon standing over him, a look of concern on him face. "Aether?" He whimpered.
