Use full screen! This project imagines a queer utopia. What would a universe that's awesome for people of all genders and sexual orientations be like? Click/tap and hold to travel around Queer Space in your rocket ship! There are 4 total planets to find. Remix to add your own! =What's "queer"?= Many (but not all) people who are not straight and/or not cisgender identify as queer. In addition to being an identity, for me and many people, "queer" refers to a philosophy: the idea that we should question what we consider "normal." That's why I use "queer" in this project. It's about going beyond the constraints of "normal" and imagining a universe that's better for everyone. =Remix ideas= - Add a new planet! Maybe Queer Space needs a planet of friendship or art or sports or joy or health or... - Add your own characters or scenes to existing planets. There's plenty of room - Or something else you imagine!
Happy Pride, everyone! <3 This project was inspired by lots of things, including.... - People, places, and media that have affirmed my queer identity over the years. - Outer space! (but not, um, the physics of it, as you might notice) - Historical LGBTQ+ spaces, including the Stonewall Inn in NYC. June is Pride Month to commemorate the anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, in which queer and trans people defended their space against a police raid. - The history of LGBTQ+ activism, communities, and symbols, as well as the discipline of queer theory. - Various art/literary futurist movements, including (but not limited to) Afrofuturism, Indigenous Futurism, and Queer Futurism. They often involve imagining better futures (and pasts.) - @ceebee's "Capture the Pride Flags" project, in that it involves flying and visiting places - Conversations with @Zinnea, @ceebee, @colorlessgreen, and friends not on Scratch You might recognize some of the art in here!
