I do not own any of the smols and squishes in the following slideshow, thanku Google Images! thank you @island for the mouse effect!! song - Lets face it, i'm cute! - by 11 Acorn Lane want to get a small pet or rodent? here is some VERY important info: Dwarf hamsters NEED 450 square inches of unbroken floor space at minimum, I suggest getting a cage 540 square inches of floor space. (do not house more than 1 hamster in a cage, hamsters are high maintenance and will fight to the death sadly, even as siblings) Syrian hamsters NEED at minimum 540 square inches, i suggest getting a 740 sq cage. (do not house more than 1 hamster in a cage, hamsters are high maintenance and will fight to the death sadly, even as siblings) Gerbils NEED 124 sq PER gerbil, i suggest housing 2-4 gerbils to reduce depression on them. (Gerbil depression leads to your critter purposely starving themselves in some cases) Rats NEED 124 sq PER rat, i suggest housing 3-6 rats to avoid depression (rats get depressed very easily if they are lonely, please give your critter some playmates) Mice NEED 120 sq at minimum, i suggest getting 3-4 mice and housing them in a 300 sq cage. (Mice can get lonely so please get at least 2 mice) Guinea pigs NEED 30" x 50", i suggest getting a bigger cage if you are housing more than 2 piggies. (Guinea Pigs get depressed and lonely so easily, please get 3-5 Piggies in each cage) before you ask, Gerbils, Rats, and mice dont just need human interactment they need others of their own kind to play with.
