So Pacifist Sans tries to talk you out of the genocide route, instead of fighting you. But when you get his health down to half, his efforts to fight are stronger. When you kill him, he survives via DETERMINATION, and attempts to strike you down and use your soul to revive the rest of the monsters, hoping that afterwards you learn your lesson, beginning Phase 2.
