Space to see the next drawing. I swore to myself I wouldn't do MerMay. But then @chamomiile- did it and it seemed so super cool and I blame her completely. Art and OCs belong to me. So, here are my characters as Merfolk/Mermaids/Mermen. Kalani is based on a Sea krait, which is a sea snake! They're super cool and related to the cobra family. Big family name, sleek, lots of stored up venom, adapting for the sake of people?-(they're slowly losing stripes to cope with pollution!) perfect fit for Kalani. Vaughn's is based on an Elephant seal. Huge intimating lugs who are aren't to be messed with and have scarred up noses? Eh, close enough fit. Rhys is based on a Leopard Seal. Sleek, looks kinda cute but can kill you, really scary when angry, and I dunno, I can't think of anything else, it just really suits him. Auntie is a great white shark because she can smell blood in the water from miles away. I ended up changing their designs a bit to fit a more sea fairing life! Rhys would've probably grown his hair out a bit, enough to put it in a ponytail because I'm guessing hair gell doesn't work too well in the ocean. Auntie has shark gills because, well, she can breathe underwater now, and a shirt that'll accommodate that. And RIP Rhy's wool sweater, that's not gonna go well with living in the water either. These are just temporary designs for fun, not actually changing Kal's entire story to make them merfolk.
