A giant paw slammed down in-front of the hollow, accompanied by a low growling sound Keith and Pidge both quietly scuttled to the back of the hollow, and Keith began protectively hugging Pidge The giant alien sniffed the carcass and picked up the leg that Keith had been eating in its jaws, and with one deafening crunch ate it Pidge whimpered and curled into a ball "Keith, I'm scared-" she muttered and Keith began stroking her hair "I know, and to be honest, I am too," he said quietly as the alien then picked up the entire carcass and ate it, it then began sniffing around, trying to figure out what the strange scents in the area were after a few minutes of looking around the clearing it looked into the hollow, it's giant emerald green eye looking directly at Keith and Pidge The two of them froze, and the alien growled, keeping its gaze on them for a few minutes, before standing back up and walking off into the forest A few minutes passed in complete silence and eventually Pidge looked to Keith "Do you think it's gone? Like, nowhere near us gone?" "I'm really not sure, let me check," Keith let go of her and was about to crawl to the hollow entrance, but Pidge stopped him by wrapping her arms around him "Don't go outside! What if it's just waiting for one of us to come out? It'll kill you! And then I won't be able to get any food or water which will lead to me dying, if the insanity for not having anyone to talk to doesn't take me first!" "Pidge, I'll be fine, I promise," he smiled "But you don't know that- I don't know that-" "Well my will to live is pretty big so I think I'll be fine, but if I do die, I know you're tough and you'll find a way to survive," "But-" "No buts, now let go of me and stay here," Pidge frowned and let go of Keith, who then crawled out of the hollow, coming back a few minutes later "See, I'm still alive, also the creature is gone, I guess it relies more on scent to track prey, not eyesight," he shrugged, taking a few seconds to notice Pidge was crying quietly "Huh? Pidge what's wrong?" Keith's only answer was Pidge suddenly hugging him "Wha- Pidge, why are you crying?" "Because I was scared you wouldn't come back-" she sniffled Keith suddenly hugged her back "I told you, I was going to come back, besides, I'm not worth crying over," he sighed "But you are worth crying over, Keith, you may not think that but I do," Pidge mumbled "You do?"
