Wilkins and Wontkins were 2 puppets from 1957 created by Jim Henson and his wife, Jane Newbel; Wilkins being an early version of Kermit the Frog. They were most prominently featured for Wilkins Instant Coffee Commercials. The very same puppets were used to advertise other products such as Red Diamond Coffee and many other products. Some of these commercials were used for other products (such as a Wilkins Instant Coffee commercial being used for Dugan's bread). As of 2012 both puppets are featured at the National Museum of American History.
