Original Composer: Matvey Blanter "Katyusha" is a Soviet folk song about a girl named Katyusha singing to her love, who is away fighting. It was sung as a farewell to Soviet troops during WWII. The Katyusha rocket (pictured firing) was a type of rocket artillery employed by the Soviets that fired 8 rockets like a Hwacha.
