Instructions

TBBT Leasing: As of May 25th, 2021 (today) I endorse anyone's efforts to use this battle engine as they please. The sprites, the effects, the engine itself. If you want, make it yours. Disclaimer: Please be delicate. Everything will work fine with the smallest amount of patience. The controls are relatively simple. Press the arrow keys to move about the various menus, space to select, and X to go back. Keep track of the timer in the lower right to see how much time you have left to act, and the timer in the upper right to see how much time you have until the enemy casts a special attack. ATTACKS: Normal attack: Hit hard, but not that hard-- however this doesn't use any mana. It has a 1/8 chance to crit. Fire: Shoot a fireball at the enemy! Does more damage than attack. It has a 1/8 chance to transform into Eruption! Ice: Ice is a wild card move. It has a 1/3 chance to hit hard, and a 1/8 chance to transform into Hailstorm! Shield: Protect yourself from any magic attack, making it do less damage. Defend: Protect yourself from any physical attack, making it do less damage. ITEMS: You only have one of each item. Use them wisely. HP UP: Restores HP. ATK UP: Boosts attack for next turn only. BOMB: Deals 30 damage every single time. Also destroys enemy timers! ~~DEBUG MODE~~ Press Z and N at any time to activate Debug Mode. A variety of things can be done in debug mode. Adding or subtracting health or mana: Press O to subtract health, press P to add health, press I to input. Press K to subtract mana, press L to add mana, press J to input. Press Y to set a timer. 1 is physical, 2 is cast, 3 is super. Press T to set the damage for the aforementioned timer. Press R to shake the stage ??? E explains itself.

Description

Known Bugs: ~2.0: Something is causing timers to overwrite themselves... ~2.12: Realizing that not all FX are turned off when players decide to turn FX off. Easy fix, will be done soon Patch Notes: ~1.10: Fixed a glitch where the Eruption command was angled downward. ~1.20: For some reason, the script for calling in voice acting is causing the game to softlock. Some actions now freeze the game entirely, working on a fix. ~1.30: Aforementioned bug was a client issue and I can no longer get it to occur. Made normal strength attacks start up faster because the code doesn't wait until the voice clip is over to finish the animation. Also, animated the bomb. ~1.40: Fixed minor bugs and made the GUI look nice and shiny like metal plates. Also made the screen flash when hitting or taking damage. ~1.50: Options menu implemented. You can now disable flashing and change your name (but the latter is completely broken. I'll fix soon). Also, decreased the level of SAUCE for the menus to appear. They aren't as stylish anymore but they're for sure faster which is a good thing. Also, turns out that if you used Hailstorm after using another magical attack it would show up as white bricks. This is now fixed, I believe. ~1.60: Fixed the name changer. If you want to use a shorter name, add spaces where there are no letters present. Example: [Cole ] <-- 5 Characters, one blank. ~1.70: The enemy now has an idle pose! Every other animation is missing..! Yaaay... ~1.80: You can now mute the voice clips from the player in the options menu. The player now has two of its three missing animations filled, being attack and hurt. The player now has voice clips for being hurt and dying. ~1.85: Added a death animation. It is not shaded yet. ~1.90: Choosing to defend now restores 20 mana at the cost of your turn (still reduces damage from the enemy's physical attack). Hopefully this makes a new layer of game-play for you guys. ~1.95: The Fireflies update. Purely cosmetic; finally added proper scripting to an old sprite. When you use the attack boost potion, fireflies will fly around your body. Also added more sound effects for the Fire command, the Attack command, the Shield command, and the Defense command. In addition, the Bomb now destroys timers. ~2.0: The fabled AI update. This one was hard to do. The enemy will now use its remaining health, your remaining health, and your remaining mana as indicators for what it should and should not do. In addition, the goblin can no longer use combos. I thought the feature was neat but I also think it's a bit unfair considering that special attacks exist. ~2.05: Fireflies V2; Added a snazzy thumbnail and added little sparkly bubble effects when drinking a health potion. Both the fireflies and this effect are disabled when graphics are on low settings. At this point, it will be slightly more taxing to have graphics on high. I'm happy to see the option mattering a little more. ~2.06: The Eruption command now shakes the ground. ~2.07: Hailstorm was given new audio files, and switching to low graphics lowers the number of icicles it creates. Why didn't I think of this?? ~2.08: New background. New music. New graphics for the options button. New. Made the game less laggy. Freaky sweat lois. ~2:10: Transition period to an event based system instead of a laggy and weird system that can have up to THREE forever blocks. Wow. I wasn't thinking when I made that. Anyway, with this addition, it should increase performance. For you with beefy computers, it wouldn't be noticeable at all but it'll actually let me put more flair in without bricking that too. >:) ~2.11: Muting music has been shifted from a keybind to the options menu. Thought it made more sense. ALSO REALIZED I NEVER TOLD PEOPLE HOW TO MUTE THE MUSIC. so i guess for those un-informed, you are now informed ~2.12: New loading screen. Well, same loading screen. Animated though. ~2.2: The Automata Update. The Goblin has been entirely replaced with an Iron-Man esque robot. It even has one of its animations finished. Isn't that cool? ~2.3: Automata continued. The enemy has a physical attack animation for the first time in the game's history. Also, sound effects and voices are mapped to entirely different audio channels. Muting them actually works now. Sorry, everyone. ~2.31: Minor update; Animations are now preloaded upon starting the game. I think that's important.. ~2.32: added funny debug mode secret ~2.33: Added an animation for the Cast special. ~2.34: Added an animation for the enemy's boost command. ---- WHAT CAN I EXPECT TO SEE NEXT? -the game gettinfg finished i guess augh
