Original Design and Contest: @hold-onto-anything Song: Little Pistol by Mother Mother(now my new fav lol) Art and Bio: @Requiiem ------------------ Name: Letimrut, Lemmy for short Gender: Demons are genderless, uses he/him pronouns Species: Lesser Demon Age: 198 years old, young-adultish Personality: Skiddish and untrustworthy, so pretty introverted, but is slowly coming out of his shell. Around people he trusts(which is like one) he's a bit of a trickster and enjoys joking and friendly nagging. The Universe: So in this world, there's a demon realm kinda parallel to a fantasy world that resembles our own, but with mAgIc(they aren't different dimensions, just... KINda different levels of reality). A demon can be summoned by drawing their rune and performing a ritual specific to them. Lemmy's rune is the one on his back, and his ritual has to do with brimstone and burning roses. However, to get a demon to do your bidding there must be some sort of payment, such as but not limited to a sacrifice. Demons each can take a form that is similar to a creature in the other world. This form is based on some part of their personality and how powerful they are. For helpful example, Lemmy here resembles a rabbit due to his intense unconditional fear for the world and his status as a Lesser Demon. A more powerful Archdemon could become human(Humans are an apex predator and are a great combination of thumbs and intelligence). The other form does not look exactly like the natural creatures they are based on, but it does tone the demon-ness down a tad(See the doodles; the Lemmy on the right is much fatter and has smaller spines, while the left is much leaner and predatory). The fantasy realm resembles Earth, but with magic and different laws and rules. Magic wielders are classified by how they use magic specifically; a wizard and a witch are not determined by gender, but by technique. Backstory: Letimrut the Lesser Demon was afraid of the world. It wasn't that he feared anything specific, more that he was afraid of EVERYTHING. Everything that could go wrong, everything that could bring his guard down for him to end up with nothing. Of course, this fear led him to live with nothing in the first place. He took his rabbit form to hide in the crevices of Mundbras, the demon realm. He was summoned in historic times to haunt a neighbor, or to send enemies into insanity. He became a popular harbinger of terror, not because of his strength(or lack thereof) but because he didn't cost much for a favor. He grew to hate the other world with a passion that drove him deeper into fear. That was until summoning died out with all other forms of 'dark' or forbidden magic at the turn of the century. Demons were much less common, and minor ones like Letimrut lay dormant, entirely forgotten. That was until he was summoned by a young witch named Beckett Veril. Beckett was seemingly a dud born to a powerful magical family. Wanting to prove his worth, Beckett dug through his family's extensive library to find something that could boost his skills. He stumbled upon a book of(now illegal) summoning spells. Though the language it was written in was forgotten, Beckett had chosen Letimrut's spell at random and summoned the very shaken demon. Still half-asleep, Letimrut agreed to help in exchange for a basket of Mrs. Veril's fresh-baked cocoa cookies. Once he woke up more, Letimrut realized what happened, but it was too late. The ritual had already ended, and the only way out now was to complete his task. Before demonstrating his new 'skill' in front of the other villagers, Beckett decided to test what the pair could do together. After testing to no avail, Beckett tried drawing Lemmy's rune on his arm(Tattoos are a traditional way to connect magic to a living vessel, kinda like shadowhunters) using ink from his quill. Sure enough, the rune allowed Beckett to channel what magic Lemmy had. Confident despite Lemmy's increasing trepidation, the young witch started towards town with the demon in his bag to show off his newfound abilities. However, he was found out when his mother, wondering where her last batch of cookies went, stopped him to search his bag. Upon finding the illegal demon, she told him to leave as fast as he could and never return. She wouldn't keep a criminal in her house, but she wouldn't see him executed by the village guard either. Sneaking along the trail that led towards the rest of the world, the pair pondered their future. Neither could return home, as one was a wanted criminal and the other never completed his task. They began to wander aimlessly, and as the weeks turned to months, which turned to years, they grew very close. Being able to see this world, with its colors and changing sky, made Lemmy a bit more open to change and others. Because of this Beckett too became more powerful, and the pair continue to help each other and cause general mischief across the countryside.
