This little animation tells the story of the Flatwoods Monster, a strange creature that supposedly crash-landed in Flatwoods, West Virginia, in 1958. Said to be alien in origin, this creature was reported three times over the course of two months. Once by a group of locals. Twice by two different drivers. The Phantom of Flatwoods is one out of many nicknames that have been used to define the creature, others being "The Green Monster", "The Braxton County Monster", and the most well-known, "The Flatwoods Monster". The town of Flatwoods, WV has embraced the legend, having started a museum and small festivities around the infamous creature. The entrance sign to Flatwoods reads -- "Welcome to Flatwoods; Home of the Green Monster."
